Reflections is an installation that combines live performance, live camera recording and video projections. The performer is confined in a relatively small cubic space. The 4 vertical sides of the cube are projection screens, two adjacent sides are translucent screens, the two opposite ones are normal screens. Two live cameras record the movement of the performer from within the cube and feed two projectors. The images are projected onto the translucent gauze, which retains 50% of the image, and lets the other 50% go through to the opposite white screen. The images transgress the confined space of the cube and return to it by the feedback effect of the video link.

The space is alive with visual elements developing from all four sides of the cube while the performer chooses to interact or not with them. The sound track constantly transmits radio signals that we use as a metaphor of the connection of the performer with the outside world. In the same way that early radio transmissions destroyed the safety and boundaries of the domestic space, bringing the unknown world into people’s lives, the installation breaks the boundaries of the performance space in search for a new vocabulary defined by the fusion of performance and technology. hat the search brings back is an infinite reflection of the performer, who represents the human experience that ultimately needs to prevail to make the technological experience meaningful and profound. Stepahie Adcock collaborated in the piece. She is a Los Angeles based performer and dancer interested in creating work combining new media and performance in contemporary yet meaningful ways.
