The Visit, as originally conceived for the stage, is a dance performance piece performed before a live audience on numerous occasions around the country. It represents the grieving journey of a woman who receives the visit of the man she is crying for.
By commission of the lead dancer Bonnie Hoda Homsey, we brought the dance to a new realm of performance by creating a virtual space where the journey takes place. The virtual sets I designed suggest the search of the woman through the labyrinth of her emotions from within, like a body that has been stripped of its skin. At the moment of the visit, the world around her transforms into a cosmic space where boundaries break for the final encounter to take place.
