~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Brain Candy~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I grew up with one sibling, a brother two years my senior. Whatever hobby or interest he picked up, I would inevitably pick up as well.
This is why I have a predilection for comic books, role-playing games, cartoons, fantasy, and science fiction. The last of these is the reason for the name of this particular page.
My brother's loving epithet for science fiction is "brain candy," something that provides your mind with minimal effort and maximal pleasure--like sugar melting on the tongue.
So, without further ado, I present to you some thoughts that I hope will prove to be a sugary feast for the brain. Or, if not, you may simply think of this as my "blog" page.
"Spoon"
Ah, yes, the Tick's war-cry. You haven't lived until you've seen an incredibly muscular man in blue spandex yell something about silverware in his best super-hero voice.
Spoon can mean many things. It can be something that you eat yogurt with. A verb: spooning--two people nestling on a couch
together. It could be a treasure map decoder. A pocket-sized funhouse mirror. The difference between a gentleman and a barbarian at the dinner table. The teaspoon. The tablespoon. The basic units of baking as we know it. It's a cheesy souvenir with an outline of Texas on it that you just have to buy for your mom collection of collectable junk. Sipping once, sipping twice, sipping chicken soup with...a spoon. Big wooden spoons: the utensil of choice for big kitchen mamas everywhere.
Spoon! You cannot deny the hotness!
Lis, this Bud's for you.
