About Jim Murray
__________________________________________
Jim Murray captured the hearts and minds of young and old alike with his literary genius.
From the Class of '43 at Trinity College (Hartford, CT), to the New Haven (CT) Register, to the now extinct Herald Examiner (Los Angeles), to TIME, INC. as the Hollywood correspondent, to being one of the founders of Sports Illustrated, who for 37 years was the premier sports columnist for the Los Angeles Times.
Jim Murray's illustrious career won him the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1990, and he was the 14-time winner of the National Sportswriter of the Year award. His outstanding work landed him a spot in the writers' wing in Cooperstown's Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988.
