Fri Apr 01
Introductions
- Brief class discussion including quick overview of the history of the programs at UCLA:
- what is media art?
- what is art?
- what are your conceptions of the similarities/differences?
- Presentations of instructor’s work.
- Create work groups (of about 4 or 5/group) for class: + half d/ma, half art students
Assignments
- In groups begin preliminary research of history and find back information on people, places or things we may want to explore. Document your investigation via the class blog
- Create a 10 minute presentation of your work to present in class during week 2 or week 3.
- Begin working on a list of questions that you would like to investigate in this class (due week 3).
