Short Biography-
Rem Koolhaas was born in Rotterdam in 1944.
He lived in Indonesia from 1952 to 1956, spending the
rest of his youth in Amsterdam. He started his career
as a scriptwriter and as a journalist for a Dutch
newspaper. From 1968 to 1973 he attended the
Architectural Association School in London.
Together with Madelon Vriesendorp
and Elia and Zoe Zenghelis, Rem Koolhaas
founded the Office for Metropolitan Architecture
(OMA) in London in 1975. Since 1995
Rem Koolhaas has been a professor at Harvard
University, where he is leading a series of research projects
for the "Harvard Project on the City", studying various
issues affecting the urban condition.
