Project 2: Mobile Artwork

READ ME

This project's purpose is to learn how to use smart phone's functions, such as acceleration, rotation, and geolocation. You should access the webpage using a smart device to try its functions. However, a regular computer can also access the webpage and see how it runs too. The recommendation here is to use Google Chrome and click "More tools" -> "developer tools" -> smart devices icon on the top left -> select your device, but iPhone7 works best. If no iPhone7 option you can create one using "custom" option. The resolution of iPhone7 is 750 x 1334.

HOW TO USE

The location that this project based on is the fabrication laboratory of the Design Media Art Department of UCLA (FABLAB). You must me in the location to access the website, or enter the password wich are the combination of the latitude and longtitude. However, in this mock-up website, if you are near UCLA, the access should already be available.

The example of this project is a table saw and a compound saw. The program tries to simulate how to use the machine by using the actual physical movement when operating the machine. Therefore, you will have to turn your phone, move your arms like, how you use the machines; including the machines' adjustement and preparation processes.
