One of nine Lulus, Jenny.

"Digital Lulu - A Mediated Seduction" is a current project I'm working on. It's my final thesis project for UCLA design/Media Arts and University of art and design Helsinki. My thesis deals with the ways that new media change the way we tell stories, and how some stories are able to travel along different media. It's about film stars, cult images, fan cultures, look-a-likes, cosplay, pin-up culture etc. The center of my work is Lulu, a character played by Louise Brooks in G.W. Pabst's legendary film Pandora's Box (1929). The Digi Lulu will be an interactive film/installation, in which 9 Lulus perform the same scenes. According to the amount of viewers, there will be an equal amount of Lulus viewed on the screen. The scenes will be edited so that the action goes on but the Lulu changes constantly. All the actrresses/actors are of diverse ethnicities, ages, sizes and body types. The nine different Lulus represent the many views the audience have on films and film star images.
