bike music box

Video Documentation

This dada-esque perversion on the form of the traditional music box depends on the locomotion of a bicycle to make its noise, rather than on a spring-loaded mechanism. It most appropriately plays an arrangement of "Bike" by Pink Floyd while the operator pedals, which gives the player wheel its rotation through a carefully selected collaboration of bicycle gears. It is designed as an interchangeable medium, with an infinite library of musical options; sadly, at this date, only the original title "Bike" has been released in the 27" Music Box medium.
