The Deadends project originated in Los Angeles, the ultimate Dead End of the western world. Deadends began as a purely artistic and conceptual exploration of the notion of the end within the context of an urban city The project consists of a working database where people can email videos or photos through their camera-phones whenever they encounter a dead end. When uploading the user is required to send the approximate street address of the dead end. A custom written program assembles the images randomly into a grid of all previously documented and uploaded pieces. Afterwards, visitors to the website can click on the images and get their geo-mapped references.
