Rationale: There is an empty space in the emoji lexicon for a representation of crime. “I was robbed,” “That’s criminal,” and “They’re a thief” are a few amongst many commonly used phrases that refer to criminal acts, sometimes literally, sometimes metaphorically. However, there is no emoji to stand alongside these phrases in reference to these criminal acts. The robber emoji would fix this problem, providing a fitting emoji counterpart for all references to crime of any kind.
