DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

THE MALE GLAZED

I'm not sure I fully agree with the issue presented here. I agree that surveillance and privacy are an issue of the Internet especially when it is abused. However I feel that users, regardless of gender are situated equally on Facebook and most of the internet with equal “rights”, features, opportunities, etc…

I wonder if my lack of concern is a response to my generational up bring on the internet where I have always been told to by hyper-aware of privacy or the different use people of my generation use the internet for—which is often to “be seen”.

THINK YOU CAN LIVE OFFLINE...

I wonder at what point the internet will evolve so much that is will not be possible to have a Facebook, cell pone, etc… or will there always be a select few willing to sacrifice without for the sake of privacy.

Personally, I feel like if people really want to find thing out about me they will always find a away regardless of how much or how little I hide—as someone with little to hide, I don’t see the concern.
