Auction

A translucent white scrim hangs from high vaulted ceilings. It is white to provide contrast to the deep red walls (which stimulates the senses to encourage spending). The headlines are set in a crisp serif along with descriptions of the pieces. Each piece in the silent auction has a personal story of my past and my love for these objects is a metaphor for my life story thus far.

Small spot lights hang from the scrim and cast a defining light on each object with just a gentle glow. These lights are the only source of light in the room. The tables are low enough for short viewers and the scrim is hung at eye level. On the table near the objects there will be bid sheets encouraging the viewers to bid on the few treasured objects that reflect my life.

Live

The live Auction will take place between 7-8. The invitations will be printed on each persons live auction cards. The cards will be look like talking bubbles with the number on the card. The larger items will be auctioned off. Behind the speaker there will be a projection of the item.

invite

Here is the invitation that doubles as a live auction card. It is important that the guest can view the pieces before arriving to the event. A website will be set up to catalog all the pieces for sale within the auction. It is similar to ebay. People can start the bidding online and finalize their bids when they arrive at the event.
