Ascension. 2003

Ascension is a series of digital photographs that explore our understanding of reality. The photographed figures are seemingly caught in a state of ambiguity above the ground, our mind tell us that they should fall, yet the image suggests a state of suspension or rising. The title of the piece refers to the latter, and draws into question whether or not these people are ascending to some higher state, or is reality going to drag them down?
