The Faun represents a creature that is half way between human and animal. In Greek mythology, they are musical creatures that frolic through the environment. This piece plays with the contrast between the the Faun's musicality and feral, animal-like nature and the stark modernity of the museum context. As he plays his cymbals the building begins to crumble and the faun's original environment reclaims what is around him.
