Any object including lights deformers and cameras may be animated along a path.
Set up your options for animation:
File -> New Scene->
Select Time: NTSC (30 fps) (We record to video, 30 frames per second is the frame rate.)
Set the Playback Start/End between 1 and 300.
Set the Animation Start/End between 1 and 300.
Choose the Settings section.
Make sure Time: NTSC (30 fps)
Choose the Time Slider section.
Make sure Playback Start/End between 1 and 300.
Make sure Animation Start/End between 1 and 300.
Select Playback Speed Play Every Frame, this will allow the simulation to process every frame.
Your playback speed will not be accurate
Set Max Playback Speed to Free
Draw the Path
Draw a curve in any view. Create->Curve Tools->CV Curve Tool
Create an object such as a sphere to animate along the path. The object moves along the path from the pivot center.
Set the maximum playback on the time slider to 300, over to the right on the time slider.
Select the sphere and then select the path.
Switch the Menu Set to Animation in the top left corner of the Maya window
Choose Constrain->Motion Paths->Attach to Motion Path
Change the timing in the Graph Editor
Select the sphere
Open Windows->Animation Editors->Graph Editor
Select View->Frame All
Select the last key frame and input a new time in the first box of Stats
Preview the animation:
Hit the play arrow on the time slider.
Bake the Animation for Unity etc
Select the object with animation.
Choose Key->Bake Animation
The default settings will create keys for rotation, translation and scaling for every frame, using the time slider.
Also Select Edit->Delete by Type->Static Channels to clean up extra unused channels
Save your model, use the unity tutorial to connect the animation.
Setup Animation to a TIFF Sequence
Select File > Set Project to set the location to which your want to save your rendered images
Choose Windows->Rendering Editors->Render Settings...
or press this icon upper right
Under the Common tab:
Under the Image File Output arrow:
Choose Image format: Tiff
Choose Frame/Animation Ext: Name.#.ext
Input Frame Padding 4 (This keeps the files listed in order alphabetically.)
Input a start and end frame value
Make sure to choose the right camera, especially if you added a new camera.
Uncheck Alpha channel (mask) (Unless transparency layer needed.)
Under the Image Size arrow:
Choose Width 960 and Height 540 (1920 x 1080 hidef or what you need)
Render to File(s)
Change to the Rendering Module
Select Render->Render Sequence from the top menu bar.
You can always hit the Esc button to stop the render.
Where are the files?
The image is stored locally in the images folder on your computer. You can change the location.

Mac: Use Applications\Autodesmaya2018\Fcheck
Select File->Open Animation Select the first frame.
