THE OPEN WINDOW

THE BASICS

The Open Window showcase offers design students the opportunity to display their movingimage design work in a professional environment, as well as gain exposure among the professional design community."The Open Window" refers to the front display window in Motion Theory's new offices, located on the Abbot Kinney Boulevard design corridor in Venice Beach, California. Set against an eclectic mix of art galleries, restaurants, and retail shops, Abbot Kinney Boulevard has built a reputation as Venice Beach's cultural center.

THE BACKGROUND The Open Window was built to celebrate the best of design, and to encourage creativity and experimentation in the visual arts. Each month brings a new theme to the dynamic Open Window space, exhibiting the works of design professionals and students from around the world. For instance, April's exhibit will highlight the powerful graphic symbols of Celtic memorials.

THE PROCESS Motion Theory would like to invite students to submit work in motion design and filmmaking for June's student-themed Open Window showcase. Both academic experts and design professionals will participate in selecting top student works. The selected entries will be showcased in our June 2002 display window.
