Soundbelt 2003
This belt is made of woven cables and electronic bits and pieces, into which
sensors are embedded. Bendsensors, proximity sensors,
potentiometers and a slider allow the wearer to control various parameters of
a synthesizer.
The sensor cables are bundled into an "umbilical cord" which connects
the belt to the pc system. The sound-generating pc system
can be hidden off-stage.
Although fully functional, the belt was never presented in a public performance.
The sound belt triggered another idea: the bass belt. This belt would not have any sensors, but look just like neck of a bass!
